Ypres: Birthplace of WMD
07/11/2013 7:00pm - 07/11/2013 9:00pm
At Blaenavon World Heritage Centre, 7pm Thursday 7th November, Tim Davies will present a poignant talk about the Ypres Salient and the ferocious fighting during the First World War.
Tim will give some insight in to the weapons of the new age that were trialled by both sides at “Wipers” (as the Tommies called it) using the battles, memorials and remains that scar the landscape to this day, to explain why he believes Ypres leaves a lasting legacy on the World as the birthplace of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Cost: £3.00 in advance (£2.50 concessions), £5.00 on the door.
