The Thankful Villages Run will see a team of motorcycle riders visit each of the 51 Thankful Villages across the United Kingdom, covering around 2,500 miles in nine days. The event will commence on Saturday 27 July 2013 at Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion and will return to the same location on Sunday 4 August 2013.
The term Thankful Villages was coined in the 1930s by the writer Arthur Mee to describe the handful of communities which suffered no military fatalities in the First World War.
The event will raise funds for the Royal British Legion and raise awareness of the 51 Thankful Villages in the United Kingdom.
