09 / 11 / 2018Literature Wales are offering an opportunity for a poet new to the field of running workshops to co-lead a project for 11-14 year olds alongside an experienced workshop facilitator, in the South Powys area.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 5.00 pm, Wednesday 21 November
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shadow and be mentored, as well as gain experience in jointly planning a project (details of pay and terms below). This will be a bilingual (Welsh and English) project, but we welcome applications from poets who only work in one language.
There will be a total of two days of workshops in a secondary school in South Powys (December-January 2019; dates to be confirmed), and one additional day in Cardiff Bay on February 19 to present the work to an audience.
This presentation will form part of an event organised by Literature Wales at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay on Tuesday 19 February 2019: A Day of Reflection on Poetry of War and Peace in Wales. The programme of the day will include readings, commissioned lectures, performances and presentations deriving from workshops with different groups across Wales. The project is funded by Cymru’n Cofio Wales Remembers 1914-1918.
To apply to be part of this project, please send:

- Literary CV, identifying relevant experiences. Poets who have not yet published should also send a short sample of their work (please note that substantial literary experience is not an essential criterion).
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: 5pm, Wednesday 21 November
In addition to the opportunity to develop, a fee of £150 per day plus travel costs will be paid (therefore a total of £450 plus travel costs for the whole project).
